Baljit Singh, 37, who lived in London's Hayes area, was declared dead at the scene after the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were called to Station Road on Saturday night.
The police were able to identify Baljit Singh on Wednesday and after that his family were informed about the incident.
A forensic post-mortem was conducted on Monday at Fulham Morchery in London, in which the cause of his death was a neck injury. Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) officials of the Met Police are investigating the case.
Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance of the Met Police investigation said that Baljit Singh was attacked in a violent manner. He died due to serious injury. My officials have been working for hours on CCTV footage, talking to the people of the area about what happened there and also identifying the people accused for the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance said, 'I would like to appeal directly to the people present at Station Road and the area around Hess around 10 o'clock on Saturday night, who had seen 2 potential attackers together. Alternatively, if anyone is aware of the condition of the deceased on that day, we would be eager to hear from them '.
