Central government bans dearness allowance

The Central Government on Thursday decided to stop the dearness allowance given to 50 lakh central employees and 61 lakh pensioners. According to the government, this decision has been taken due to the financial burden on the government due to Corona virus infection. This ban on central employees and pensioners will remain in force till June 2021. Due to this deduction, the treasury of the central and state government will save about Rs 1.25 lakh crore.

Dearness allowance will not increase for 18 months

Employees were expected to get 21 percent DA instead of 17. But now the government has stopped this increase. Due to this, now central government employees and pensioners will get dearness allowance at the rate of only 17 percent for about 18 months.
